India New Zealand FTA opens export opportunities
India’s free trade agreement with New Zealand, which started on October 20, could help Indian exporters in sectors like engineering, automotive, textiles, leather and pharmaceuticals. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal called the agreement a ‘Vijay’ for both countries.
Saurav Kumar said duty-free access may help Indian businesses grow in New Zealand. However, success will depend on pricing, compliance and supply chains. Freight costs, shipment volumes and certification could affect profitability for some exporters.
