India New Zealand FTA comes into force

Indian exporters gained duty-free access to New Zealand’s entire tariff schedule as a free trade agreement between the two countries came into force. The agreement removes import duties on Indian goods and opens new opportunities for businesses in sectors like textiles, footwear, pharmaceuticals and engineering.

The agreement includes a commitment by New Zealand to facilitate $20 billion in investment into India over 15 years. It also provides measures to simplify customs procedures and reduce administrative delays for trade between the two countries.
