Basmati rice has unique HS code and tariffs vary by country

Basmati rice has its own 8-digit ITC-HS code, 1006 30 20, due to its GI status. Tariffs depend on the destination country.

The USA applies 1.4 US cents per kilogram on milled basmati plus a new 10% Section 301 surcharge. The UK-India trade agreement provides duty-free access for basmati. GCC states exempt rice from standard 5% rates.
