Privacy policy

What we collect
- Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and receives your browser details and an approximate location. We never send it page query strings.
- Security. Cloudflare protects the site from attacks and may set a security cookie or show a check page.
- Server logs. Our server records each request (IP address, page, browser) and deletes these records after 14 days.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. We store a scrambled form of your IP address, not the address itself, to stop spam.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not ask for an account, a password or payment.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Server logs are deleted after 14 days. Google Analytics data is kept for Google’s standard period.
Who else handles it
Google (analytics), Cloudflare (security), our email provider (to deliver your message to the editor) and our hosting provider. Each handles it only to provide that service.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Use the contact form and choose “Something else”. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
