India-EU trade deal to cut medical tariffs

India and the European Union plan to sign a free trade agreement by the end of 2026. The deal could start working by March or April 2027 after both sides complete approval and ratification.

The agreement will lower import duties on medical equipment and medicines from Europe. This will reduce costs for hospitals and help Indian manufacturers access the EU market.
