India tea prices rise but split between regions

India’s average tea auction price rose nearly 10 per cent in the first seven months of 2026. North India saw much higher price increases than South India.

North India’s average price was Rs 226.73 per kg in January-July 2026, compared with Rs 132.94 per kg in South India. The gap between the two regions has grown significantly.
