India's granite industry spans several states

India's dimension-stone industry is mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. These states are also most affected by the industry economically.

The United States is the world's largest consumer of granite, sourcing much of its demand from Brazil, China and India. Granite and other building stones are listed as free for export in India's current export policy.
