India shipped 9,318 tonnes of jeera (cumin) in July 2026, down 32% from 13,779 tonnes in July 2025. Coriander seed exports fell too, by 16% to 2,703 tonnes.

Domestic jeera prices stayed firm into October, which traders put down to tight supply of premium bold seed. For coriander, weather uncertainty ahead of the new crop is adding a risk premium.

For exporters, firm domestic prices squeeze margins on contracts signed earlier in the year. Check whether your forward contracts still cover today's purchase price before taking new orders.
