India exports onions to UAE

Dubai buys onions for a market that extends beyond its own grocery stores and restaurants. Importers supply wholesalers, retailers, hotels and food businesses, while the UAE’s trading network also connects produce suppliers with buyers elsewhere in the region.

India exported around 15.48 lakh metric tonnes of fresh onions worth US$397 million in FY2025–26. The UAE was among the major destinations, with exports to the UAE at roughly 2.78 lakh tonnes valued at US$63.5 million in calendar-year 2025.
