India-EU FTA boosts food exports to Europe
India’s food exports to Europe are growing, with processed foods, spices and healthy snacks becoming more popular. The India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed in January 2026 is expected to help Indian food producers by reducing tariffs and making it easier to enter European markets.
The FTA aims to improve trade between India and the EU by simplifying rules and reducing costs. However, Indian exporters must meet strict European standards on safety, pesticides and product quality to succeed in the European market.
